Due Date - Sort of

So, yesterday we had the "special dating" ultrasound and the tech said according to the fetus measurements the baby was 12 weeks 4 days old, which would be a Dec. 21st due date.  Based on my last period the CNM had said it would be a Dec. 17/18th due date, so pretty close.  When I had originally been looking at the ovulation calendar (on some random website) I thought it would be a later in Dec. due date, but considering how much of a procrastinator I am I guess I will focus on the earlier date. ;)  Of course, if the CNM ever tries to use the "i" word, I will keep that later date in the back of my mind for reference.  Here is one of the pics we got yesterday:

I thought I was going to get chastised for waiting so long, but actually the CNM remarked on how most people are coming in too early and even the ultrasound tech said she liked doing them at this age because they are still easy enough to measure but they move around more.  Next CNM visit in two weeks, but I don't expect any big revelations there.

I am hoping to move out of the nauseous/tired phase in the next week or so, especially because we have some VERY important house guests coming at the end of next week.  Every time I think the nausea is easing up, it comes back with a vengeance.  Yesterday as we were getting ready to leave for the appointment was actually the first time I was on my knees in front of the toilet, dry heaving because I hadn't even eaten anything yet.  When I told Lenny nothing really came out because I didn't have anything in my stomach, Elena said, "You have a baby in there."

  2. "Thank you," says one of the "VERY" important house guests, "for that unexpected compliment." (And if you are expecting more people than just Leggy and me, well, now I feel stupid.) As far as tired goes, we with autoimmune diseases certainly understand that. And as for the nausea, we've been there, too. Don't sweat it. I hope our visit isn't causing too much stress or angst. That was never our plan.

  3. Ditto to what Brittney said!!! But poor you - hope that phase ends soon. That is NOT fun (been there w/reflux issues). Not being a mommy, it look me quite a while to figure it out. At first I thought there were three separate sections and you were having triplets! ha ha ha!

  5. Plus, it gives me a good excuse to not have a super clean house. ;)

  6. The little peanut is so cute!!! And Elena seems very aware of the baby, so that's awesome! I totally understand/remember 1st trimester exhaustion/nausea, so we will be accommodating! That was the only time in my life that I did not have trouble sleeping :) Can't wait to see you all!
