I should have one more post about our trip, but first, I need your help. I am trying to do the gift registry for my baby shower(s) and I would really appreciate specific recommendations as to what is really necessary, useful, etc. and what you really don't need. Just looking at the car seats, strollers, and combos thereof made my head spin.
Also, for example, do I really want the Diaper Genie (which only uses Diaper Genie bags) or should I get a different brand that uses regular bags? Do you just register for a bunch of stuff and sort it all out when the time comes? Please share your thoughts/experiences.

Well being as though I just went thru all of this I will try to be brief. ;) A friend of mine had told us to go with the diaper champ b/c of the refill issue. But we read some reviews and decided on the genie instead. It does trap the odors, BUT the refills are super small and can get costly. We like our travel system but we were also gifted with a Jeep Stroller that is easier to maneuver now that he's bigger. We even use it around the house. lol The good thing about BRU (if that is where you're registering) they allow you to return anyting with a gift receipt or if it's on your registry u can return it w/out a rcpt. So you can return the things you don't think you'll end up using for the more useful stuff like DIAPERS! (You CANNOT have too many of those...trust me). Hope this helps a little.
ReplyDeleteI liked my travel system a lot because I could tote him around when he was teeny tiny. Though, if I had to do it all over again, I might try "wearing" the baby rather than pushing him around. If you are going to wear the baby at all, don't get a Baby Bjorn. I'll refer you to a blogger who can recommend some great slings and wraps and such. Do research on the Diaper disposal products. I was not overly thrilled with Diaper Genie. It only traps some of the odors. Here's what I suggest. Register for all the stuff you think you need, and then before making it known, ask some of your mommy friends to review it and make suggestions. It's hard to remember all the stuff out there that you may or may not need ...
ReplyDeletei'm thinking i just confused you more than anything else, but I hope I helped a little bit.
